Description: A COMPLETE BURMESE GILT LACQUER KAMMAVACA MANUSCRIPT EARLY 20TH CENTURY
Composed of two lacquered and gilt wood book covers with designs of apsaras amidst scrolling lotus, with two elaborate end-pages depicting figures amongst scrolling lotus and Buddhist guardian lions . The manuscript leaves of gilt lacquered palm leaf, with Pali script in deep brown lacquer. Together with original padded cotton cloth cover, and an intricately woven tape binding with lengthy inscriptions.
