Pair of Chinese famille jaune porcelain bowls. With a deep curvature flaring upward to a slightly everted rim and raised foot base. Four medallions wrapping around the surface with a depiction of beautiful plants. Exterior covered in butterflies in various colors. Underbase with Jiaqing six characters reign mark in underglaze red, Qing Dynasty.

PROVENANCE: James Barnes (1939-2016) of Memphis, TN; survived by two sisters who have decided to sell some of his treasured collections to fund charitable foundations that he was actively involved in. These collections were inherited from his Father-in-law (Kenneth Harlin) at his passing in 1967. Mr. Harlin had an early film career in the 1920-1930s as an international traveler he was able to bring back treasures from around the world.
