German, most likely from the Bernheimer Castle, Bavaria. Another remarkable and adorable pottery desk accessory! Glazed brown pottery in rectangular form with long trough below tiered platform with 3 standing lions rearing on their hind legs, front paws resting on inkwells and a candle holder. the date 1825 in the front center. Stunning! Size: 10" L x 8" H (25.4 cm x 20.3 cm)

Provenance: Ex-Paul & Louise Bernheimer collection, Cambridge, MA and Laguna Woods, CA.
