Description: Old Nepalese (Chinese) or Tibet bronze bejeweled deity. Features the form of Prajnaparamita, the personification of the perfection of transcendent wisdom, in Buddhism. The four armed figure is seated on a lotus base and adorned with numerous gemstones and a reticulated and bejeweled breastplate (possibly a headdress or crown). Wonderful gold gilt surface. Measures 14" x 11". Good overall condition with wear consistent with age and several missing stones. Bequest of John Bass to the Bass Museum of Art collection. Deaccession # 1979.433.
