AN ANTIQUE INDO PERSIAN GOLD DAMASCENED HORSEMEN'S BATTLE AX TABAR, POSSIBLY QADJAR, IRAN, 19TH CENTURY, with a traditional crescent moon curved blade, trimmed in gold stylized leafy vine and centering a ruyi shaped cartouche with nastaliq inscription, opposite a square form hammer enclosing a champleve standing crane with long beak suspending a spread winged bird, within a gilt line eight pointed star and foliate details, before sides having rectangular reserves framing similar pointed stars and paired bird decoration, above a steel haft with twist fluted ends flanking faintly engraved octagonal zig zag cut sections.
