A GROUP OF TWO LATE QING DYNASTY (1644-1912) CELADON GLAZE STONEWARE BRUSH WASHERS, CHINESE, GUANGXU PERIOD (1875-1908), comprising an unusual octagonal vessel with flat rim mounted by two bat or dragonfly form integral handles, verso a six character kaishu script mark, diameter: 6"; and a yao plate, verso underglaze blue nian zhi mark and a Jian Ding approval seal mark from Guangdong province, diameter: 8 3/4". The ocatagonal piece has some ink staining within interior crevices, some interior glaze cracks; the plate has some glaze wear on inteiror of plate, a brown colored crack at edge, some surface soil, chips at foot but overall in good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.Simpson Galleries strongly encourages in-person inspection of items by the bidder.
