DEEP BURMESE DECORATIVE BOWL WITH FIGURATIVE DEPICTION
Copper alloy, silver-platedBurma, 20th centuryElaborately worked, multi-openworked bowl with eight figures, almost three-dimensional depictions in circular reserves. The opening is comprised of rowed lotus leaves with tips reaching up. The entire side is strongly pierced with floral designs, except the eight portrayals. These present mythical figures from theater scenes, including also Nat and Balu, mainly in courtly Konbaung costumes. Also compactly rowed palm leaf motifs. Flat bottom.
