CUP WITH ANIMALS AND DRAGON
Blanc-de-Chine porcelain
China, Qing-dynasty, probably ca. 17th to 18th cent.
Flared, oval cup featuring ribbed sides and decorative relief. The glaze is toned beige, craquelé exceptionally fine. Foot and opening are lobed, below the rim outside is a curtain of clouds. The relief offers a walking buck, a little seated animal, perhaps a lion dog, two birds in flight and a dragon, but only its head and tail.
