SUPERB, EXTRAORDINARY 18th C. Chinese Qing Dynasty Emperor Qianlong Reign Period (11 October 1735 - 8 February 1796) GUAN type Imperial porcelain Zun vase. A Chinese guan Zun vase clear grayish-celadon Zun porcelain vase, with grooved corner simulating flori-form lobed ruyi shaped body, gently waisted toward the slightly flared rim, and raised upon a splayed concave base. Two cylindrical ears flanked on the neck. All covered in a pale-grayish-celadon glaze, with a single network of wide dark grey crackles along the surfaces, and darker lining to the top of rim and neck interior with olive-greenish hue. The foot rim remains unglazed, revealed deep-brown ground with speckles of firing marks. The shape is uniformly proportioned. The clay is fine and exquisite, the glaze smooth, brilliant with a moist appearance, the finishing meticulous. The porcelain conformed all required specimen to be highly valued Chinese Guanyao porcelain Imperial wares, with the finest material, the glaze, and the shape.
The under-base bears a reign mark, a six underglazed blue seal script characters, Made in The Years of Qianlong Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty (11 October 1735 - 8 February 1796). A retired engineer and Christian School Administrator, has had the heart of a missionary to serve in many foreign countries aiding in building orphanages and hospitals in Russia, Romania, Ukraine, and other Asian countries. His present work is in Lima Peru. There he is using his talents to help develop safe drinking water and establish sanitary conditions inside the hospital. He is the parent to 16 children most of which are adopted from various countries. His worldwide travels have allowed him to enjoy the ability to collect treasures, some of his collection will be sold at auction to help raise funds for his ongoing work in Peru.
