16th C. Antique Chinese Ming Dynasty Zhengde Emperor Reign Period ( 1505 - 1521) Red blue and white Royal Meiping Jar. Sturdy porcelain jar with robust shoulder region curving into a feminine waist that extends all the way to the bottom forming circular base. The exterior decorated with Islamic calligraphy motif enclosed within double square borders, surrounded with array of scrolling motif and lotus blooms shooting forth between scrolling leafy tendrils in precise iron-red imagery. The rim, neck, and foot encircled by auspicious symbols within bands of geometrical patterns, including upright plantain leaves painted in cobalt underglazed blue. The foot rim reveals the cut edges during the making process, with grayish creme-brown ground and dark spots of firing marks. While the slightly receded central base remain white under-glazed. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant finish that was applied by a meticulous glaze, the shape is uniformly proportioned. The underside bear a reign mark, a vertical six under-glazed blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within a double fine rings, Made in The Years of Zhengde Reign Period of The Great Ming Dynasty.

A retired engineer and Christian School Administrator, has had the heart of a missionary to serve in many foreign countries aiding in building orphanages and hospitals in Russia, Romania, Ukraine, and other Asian countries. His present work is in Lima Peru. There he is using his talents to help develop safe drinking water and establish sanitary conditions inside the hospital. He is the parent to 16 children most of which are adopted from various countries. His worldwide travels have allowed him to enjoy the ability to collect treasures, some of his collection will be sold at auction to help raise funds for his ongoing work in Peru.
