Pair of Chinese Qing polychrome magpie & bamboo over ruby-red glazed porcelain bowls. Deep curvature flaring upward to form the rim, with a slightly raised footing. The exterior deocrated in delicate hand painting of magpie amidst bamboo sprigs. Defined by the deep ruby-red glaze background which is sourced from copper as the oxygen is depleted during the firing stage. The interior and concaved central base reserved in white underglaze. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant finish that was applied by a meticulous glaze craftsman.
The under-base bears a reign mark, a four underglazed blue script characters reign mark, Made in The Years of Yongzheng Reign Period. Measurements: Height (each): 27/8" Diameter (each): 5 7/8"
