Chinese Yuan / Early Ming Dynasty blue and white dragon porcelain high stem cup. The Chinese porcelain bowl potted of shallow vessel, rounded cavetto emerged steep round sides further to flat wide opening, raised on a splayed countersunk tall foot base. The exterior hand-painted with cobalt underglazed blue of two five-claws dragons chasing the centralized flaming pearl amongst fume clouds borne above cresting wavy water and rock mountain. Banded with a fine ring under rim. The tall stem foot base molded with numerous protruding rings. The interior decorated with flaming pearl enclosed within blue ring conforming the cavetto. The foot rim reveals the cut edges during the making process, and the base left unglazed with grayish creme-brown ground and dark spots of firing marks. The clay fine and exquisite, the glaze smooth with a moist appearance, the finishing meticulous.
The immaculate porcelain body is covered with a characteristic silky glaze, with various striations throughout the finish.
