Scarce re-edition of an attractive 18th-cent. celestial map depicting the constellations of the southern hemisphere in the shape of mythological figures & animals (incl. the 12 signs of the Zodiac) designed by the French astronomer Philippe de la Hire (1640-1718) & published by the French geographer Louis Charles Desnos (1725-1805). – Vertical fold in the middle (as publ.). A few foxed spots, but else in good condition (not examined out of frame).
