Description: a) Curved dagger with tri-foil hilt, possibly ceramic, and broad, J-shaped sheath. Hilt and sheath are decorated with geometric and floral motifs, steel blade is etched at base with flowers and along center of blade with hatchmarks. Some pinkish coloring on hilt. Reverse of sheath shows joining, like seams, along sides and simple etched markings. Belt is woven with leather fastening, rope-like sling for knife. b) Long curved dagger with plain, wooden hilt. Sheath is plain leather, coming to long point, with seam at center back and loop attached for belt. Daggers resemble khanjar or janbiya dagger used in different regions of Islamic world, but likely a 20th century reproduction. Dimensions are: a) 15 inches X 6 inches without belt; b) 19 inches X 3 inches. All measurements are approximate.
