Two related designs for 'chamber tables' appear in the Gillows Estimate Sketch Books, for the years 1810 and 1826, reference numbers 344 and 3497 respectively, Westminster City Archives. An example of a similar chamber table to the offered lot, which was supplied by Gillows to Parlington Hall in 1811, is illustrated in C. Gilbert, Furniture at Temple Newsam and Lotherton Hall, Vol. II, London and Bradford, 1978, p.381, no.502.Other comparable models which have sold at auction include three such tables with Bonhams, London: 4 June 2014, lot 95; 19 November 2014, lot 112; and 3 June 2015, lot 226; and two with Christie's, London: 27 April 2006, lot 328; and 26 April 2007, lot 308.
