Letter dated 3rd July, 1793 from Flint River, this seven page letter recounts the killing of a David Cornel, one of the chiefs of the Tuckebatchees arriving to meet Timothy Barnard, and then going to the Chehaw and retrieving a woman prisoner. Cornel then proceeds to Colerain Station unarmed and was fired upon and killed with another boy. Mr. Barnard fears how this action will affect the area and possible turmoil and reactions. Letter appears to have been originally sent to Major General James Jackson, Savannah, but not documented. From the J. H. Elliot Atlanta Collection.
