The longest running GMT-Master reference in Rolex’s archives, the 1675 was first introduced in 1959 and remained a part of the catalog until 1980. Due to its long production span, the GMT-Master 1675 can be found with a wide assortment of variations, and this example from 1972 offers plenty for the discerning collector. The fat-font red and blue “Pepsi” bezel insert has faded to a desirable hue over the years, and the tritium hour markers on the hands and excellent condition MK2 matte black dial have developed a warm patina over the years. The “Pepsi” 1675 is the archetypical GMT-Master reference, and this example is a fantastic representation of the quintessential Rolex pilot’s watch.
This ref. 1675 GMT-Master has?an estimated production date of approximately 1972. The original MK2 matte black dial is in superb condition, and the luminous material on its hands and hour markers has developed a warm and desirable patina. The watch and bracelet are in excellent overall condition and free from all significant signs of damage. The “Fat Font” bezel insert is slightly faded in color.
