The relevant page inscribed: metal bell from Harrar, poetry is written on it saying as follows:
'It's notes are heard along the winding way and to its sounds the distant stars revolve while the bright moon illumines the pass of Han this lovely view supplies the place of talk attuned to the pure notes which reach this winding way'
This was deciphered by The Chinese Ambassador in England Nov 1902 asked to do so by The British Museum Authorities. Harrar a city of North Eastern Abyssinia, Africa, the dominion of Egypt, one of the cities visited by Burton (?) the traveller in guise of an Arab. See illustration
