A THREE-LEGGED TOAD AMBER CARVING, QING
China, 17th-18th century. The translucent amber toggle of a rich golden-brown color with few opaque inclusions, carved naturalistically in the round as a three-legged toad with its cub, grabbing two leafy pomegranates.
Provenance: Collection of the late Gerard Arnhold (1918-2010), philanthropist, collector and supporter of the Oriental Museum Durham for many years.
Condition: Supreme condition with fine patina and only few natural and minuscule flaws in the material.

清代琥珀雕三足金蟾
中國,十七至十八世紀。半透明的琥珀,色澤金黃,夾雜這少量不透明内沁,隨形巧雕一隻三足金蟾和他的幼仔抓著石榴葉片。
來源:已故Gerard Arnhold(1918-2010)收藏;Gerard Arnhold曾是慈善家、Durham東方博物館多年的收藏家和支持者。
品相:品相極好,包漿細膩,琥珀内有些微天然細微裂紋。
