A SILVER TEAPOT AND THREE CUPHOLDERS
China, 1850-1920. All four pieces bear stamped hallmarks to their bases and fine floral motifs in transparent enamels on neatly incised and punched medallions. The knob on the teapot is gilt and surrounded by a raised ruyi border. (4)
Provenance: From the collection of Alexander Popov in Novi Sad, Kingdom of Serbia, acquired between 1900-1920. A copy of an old black and white photo, dating to early 1930s, with the collector’s cabinet, and the present lot within, is accompanying this lot.
Condition: Old wear and traces of use, minor losses to enamels and few tiny nicks here and there. Overall quite good condition.
