A PALE CELADON JADE BIANHU, QING
China, late 18th – mid-19th century. The well-hollowed vessel with pierced phoenix handles, matching lid and stand, the latter carved in openwork from spinach green jade. The stone of fine even color with very few, tiny black and russet inclusions. Fine, lustrous polish.
Provenance: From a European private collection.
Condition: Excellent condition with some wear and a few minuscule nibbles to edges. Minor natural flaws to stone.

The flattened body of the moon flask with two large, scenic reserves: The first depicts an immortal accompanied by a Buddhist lion and its cub while a young servant brings a brocade ball. The second side shows two boys playing with an elephant. The cover bears a blossom knob. Three neatly incised circumferential key fret borders. (3)

中國,十八世紀末至十九世紀中。扁壺掏膛良好,玉色溫潤,夾雜著些微黑色和紅褐色肌理,鳳鳥雙耳,底座為碧玉雕刻而成。
