A BLUE AND WHITE ‘SCHOLAR’ VASE, QING
China, 19th century. The large vessel with a raised depiction of scholars, finely painted in cobalt-blue, gathering in a bamboo grove and inspecting a bamboo scroll, all below a pair of brown-glazed fillets. The shoulders with molded lion masks and rings. The ivory-colored glaze with intentional crackling.
Provenance: From a German collector, acquired personally in Tsingtao in China in 1967. The copy of an affidavit in German language confirming the location and date of purchase is accompanying this lot.
Condition: Excellent condition with one tiny glaze flake to lip, on minute chip to foot and some fritting to rings. Some firing flaws.

中國, 十九世紀。大瓶子上竹林中文人故事場景,青花繪製精美,肩部采用模壓,象牙釉面有開片。
來源:德國私人收藏, 親自在1967年購於中國青島。隨附一份確認購買地點和日期的德文副本。
品相:極好品相,輕微釉面開片。唇部有剝落,脚部有一小塊開片,一些窯砂,一些燒製瑕疵。
