A SOUTH EAST ASIAN CARVED TEAK NARRATIVE PANEL, POSSIBLY BURMESE/THAI, 20TH CENTURY, of square form and intricately detailed deep relief carving depicting a hunter youth wearing traditional headdress and clothes strapped with a quiver of arrows, leading a similarly attired maiden through a dense lush forest concealing other hunters and leaping deer, before an astonished hunter gazing at his recent deer kill laying in the lap of a wide eyed bearded forest deity, set within a conforming carved molded frame. Height: 21 1/2" Width: 39" Condition: Good condition with surface dust buildup in crevices, wood has some age cracks and small nicks. Nicely carved details throughout.
