Description: TWO JAPANESE ARITA BLUE AND WHITE DISHES EDO PERIOD (1603-1868), 17TH AND 18TH CENTURIES
One dish decorated in undergfaze blue with a scene of garden rocks with bamboo emerging from behind, a bird in mid flight and a bird on a bamboo branch watching each other, the reverse decorated with bamboo branches, circa 1660-1680; together with a plate decorated with 'Karako' (Chinese boys) chasing stylised butterflies under a pine tree with clouds, circa mid 18th century.
