Description: A CHINESE YIXING ZISHA ARCHAISTIC TEAPOT, ATTR. CHEN SHOUFU QIANLONG OR JIAQING PERIOD (1736-1820)
The teapot of reddish brown body of compressed globular form on three rounded tripod legs, with a dragon form spout and a handle and lid handle decorated with Qilong, the body with a repeated archaistic square spiral design stamped into a darker clay inlaid band. With an unread square impressed mark to the base, and a mark to the inside of the lid reading 'Shoufu' for the potter Chen Shoufu. Chen Shoufu was active during the Qianlong and Jiaqing reigns.
