The panels consisting of red lacquer fields surrounded with mottled brown-green lacquer fretwork over a gold lacquer ground, the red field highlighted with slightly flattened removable precious antique archaistic objects giving a partial trompe l'eoil effect of added depth, each of the removable precious objects marked at the reverse 'Shen Shao An Lang Kee Foochow, China'. Each panel surmounted with a geometric pierced brass hanger.
