Very rare military passport written for “Guillaume Expalude” (= Willem Expalude, a government official who supervised the military salaries) permitting him to travel from Maastricht to the western part of the Netherlands (“van Maestricht naer Hollandt”). SIGNED by Prince William III (who was appointed commander-in-chief of the Dutch States Army in 1672) and his secretary Constantijn Huygens Jr. – With defects (seal removed with loss of paper, small portion of lower blank margin & 2 blank corners torn off, large waterstain in upper part, horizontal & vertical folds).
