Between 1923-1926 Chagall produced 96 etchings for this novel commissioned by the French art dealer Ambroise Vollard (1866-1939), but the project remained unfinished. After Vollard’s death the etchings were published by Tériade (Paris, 1948. Printed in 368 copies). – In good condition.
