Very rare 19th-cent. album comprising a collection of Utagawa Kunisada’s masterly woodcuts (depicting various scenes with Kabuki-actors) beautifully printed in vibrant colours (on both sides of a leaf) including 14 triptychs, i.a. the famous view of the interior of a Kabuki theatre (probably the “Ichimura-za” theatre in Edo with a Shibaraku performance) originally published in 1858 by N?sh?ya Yasubei in the series “Odori keiy? Edo-e no sakae” (Flourishing of Edo Pictures Depicting Dances). ? Both covers partly stained/ worn. Apart from the usual traces of use all woodcuts in good condition.
