Very rare etching depicting the the triumphal arch made in the inauguration of Pope Innocenzo XIII in San Giovanni Laterano on November 16, 1721. Sicilian engraver Francesco Faraone Aquila from Palermo worked in Rome from 1690 to 1740, collaborating with Arnoldo Van Westerhout. He created prints of ceremonies in the papal court. The engraving shows. The ephemeral arch was designed by Pompeo Aldrovandini Bolognese. Its sides are adorned with sculptures, the embodiment of law, justice, medicine and maternity.
