A SHISOU BAXIAN BRONZE VASE, KANGXI
China, 1661-1722. Two-character signature Shisou to base. The pear-shape vase, yuhuchun ping, is heavily cast of bronze and inlaid in silver to depict the Eight Immortals, baxian, gathering on a lakeshore with flying cranes in the background.
Condition: European mountings to neck have been removed, the associated drillings filled. Otherwise in fine condition with some wear, traces of use and minor casting flaws.

The neck with two cartouches, one bearing the character shou, the other with twin peaches, all within foliate lappet borders.
