Description
A CHAM GILT HAIRPIN WITH GEMSTONES
Central Cham kingdom, 10th – 11th century. A short gilt hairpin with a stupa-like head, superbly decorated with small lotus leaves, other floral motifs and four dark red gemstones (garnets or zircon) on the sides and one more gemstone at the top.
Condition: Very good condition, only few traces of wear with some loss of gilt.
Provenance: A private owner, acquired from the collection of Dr. Istvan Zelnik several years ago.
