Description
A CHAM GOLD EYE PENDANT WITH EYE AGATE INLAY
Champa, classical period, 10th - 12th century. The oval gold pendant mounted with a white agate with a dark-brown pupil-like center giving the stone the appearance of a large eye. The rim of the pendant is framed with gold granulate.
Condition: Good condition with minor dents and material loss.
Provenance: A private owner, acquired from the collection of Dr. Istvan Zelnik several years ago.
Weight: 14.3 g.
Dimensions: Height 3.3 cm, Width 3.8 cm.
Metallurgic analysis: Fine gold content 564/1000.
