DILLENS, HENDRICK JOSEPH (1821 - 1877)Farm scenes. ?Pair of paintings, oil on canvas. ?Monogrammed: HD. ?Each 27 x 22 cm. ? ?Provenance: Liechtenstein private collection. ? ?The Belgian Hendrick (also Henri) Joseph Dillens, born in Ghent in 1821 as a member of an artist family, was a trained draftsman and etcher, who was particularly appreciated for his genre scenes in oil and watercolour. His favorite subjects included historical depictions and everyday scenes of the provincial population.
