Description A Napoleon III ormolu mounted rouge griotte, Breccia and vert maurin columnar pedestal by Maison Millet, third quarter 19th century, the Corinthian order capital above a tapered stem and descending to a stepped square section base, the capital and fitments stamped MILLET, 115cm high overall Founded in 1853 by Theodore Millet, Maison Millet was a highly regarded company of cabinetmakers producing fine furniture with ormolu mounts both in historic and contemporary tastes. The company was enlisted by Versailles in 1902 to reproduce Marie Antoinette's Armoire à Bijoux, and produced designs for master ébeniste Fran?ois Linke.
