~ A George II Ebony Veneered Pull Quarter Repeating Table Clock, signed Joseph Grey, Durham, circa 1750, inverted bell top with carrying handle, side viewing windows, pull quarter repeat cord, 8-inch arch brass dial with a silvered chapter ring, arch with two dials for strike/silent and rise/fall selections, signed on a central silvered plaque, twin fusee movement with an anchor escapement, pull quarter repeat on a nest of six bells and striking the hours on a larger bell, movement backplate with scroll engraving and signed in a cartouche, 56cm high over handle see illustrations 30.01.20 Pediment with joints separating in parts, case with chips and dents to edges, surfaces are discoloured in parts, veneers with some cracks, left hand side glass is cracked, dial slightly discoloured in parts, movement escapement has been converted from a verge to an anchor escapement, movement needs cleaning, pull repeat not working, movement going train is working.
