Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, Qianlong white ground blue sky glazed engraved porcelain Zun jar. The Finest porcelain in feminine shape, the shape having large and wide ovoid body, thick potted, sturdily potted in a baluster jar, gently swell on shoulder into a feminine waist that extends all the way to the bottom, shoulder tapering to straight neck with slightly flaring opening, raised on small round deep concave foot base, with two elephant head trunk flanked on the shoulder body create majestic handles. All reserved in pale white underglaze base color which contrast against the bright fine blue color. Blue and white porcelain in Chinese it is called Qing Hua Ci. It is the most important variety of China’s porcelain. It was originated in the Yuan Dynasty. Its color does not easily fade and durability is longer. It used cobaltous oxide as the colorant. Patterns were directly painted onto the inner body and burnt after glaze was applied on it. The main body delicately fine depicted with circle wave among repeating interlocking key fret, The shoulder decorated with thick cylindrical ring in pale white, Triangle geometric and archaic pattern on the neck, and the pedestrian base decorated with archaic dragon among repeating interlocking key fret. The foot rim reveals the cut edges during the making process, and the base left unglazed with grayish creme-brown ground and dark spots of firing marks. The porcelain conformed all required specimen to be high valued Chinese porcelain wares, with finest material, the whiteness, the glaze, and the carving. Without overlap the outlines of the design, well carved, clear, subtle, distinct, and the shape is uniformly proportioned.
