Chinese Qing Dynasty, lacquered dragon motif lidded box. Of a rectangular form, the cover opening above four side panels to reveal the pink covered interior. The box characterized by rich decoration in colorful elaborate carving of two dragons ascending oppositely in pursuit of the centralized flaming pearl, borne amidst flames and clouds, above cresting Lishui water, all sets against swastika diapers on golden-brown lacquered ground. The box is mounted with ruyi -shaped fittings, a square-shaped lock plate, all in huangtong brass. Fitted unto tall pedestal, with four cabriole legs joined by box sketchers.
Over all in EXCELLENT condition, with normal anomalies in nature, natural lacquer imperfection, sign of stressed surface, minor scratch & dent; Normal consider ages and wears.
