After Samuel Howitt's drawings (British, 1755-1822) after Captain Thomas Williamson (1790-1815), titled in English and French, "Driving a Bear out of Sugar Canes". Plate done by H. Merke, No. XXVIII, published in London by T. McLean, Jan. 1819. Slight rippling, some toning, minor spotting/foxing. Image is double-sided, with page of text from Captain Thomas Williamson's "Oriental Field Sports" corresponding to the image verso. Image is 17 3/8 x 12 1/4" high, in an antique maple frame with some wear, 27 1/2 x 22 1/2" high overall. ESTIMATE $100-200
