Description A footed dish decorated with flowers of hexagonal shape with gilded rim and wavy patterns at the base. Red underglaze TONGZHI mark under the base. Ca. Qing Dynasty, 19th. Century. Clayton and his wife were missionaries of the American Baptist Foreign Mission Society in charge of Wayland Academy, a missionary school in Hangzhou, China from 1912 to 1942. E.H. Clayton wrote a book Heaven Below based on his living experience in China.
