拍品描述 翻译
Extremely rare Paris Historical decorated 1661-1722, with clobbered decoration, blue leaf mark in double circles on bottom Kangxi mark of the Qing Dynasty original, 20”hFrom a Wellesley, MA estate MUSEUM ITEM. Must in every important Chinese porcelain collection. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY THE HISTORY . THE 5TH PHOTO SHOW YOU HOW IT WAS AT THE TIME BEFORE BEEN DECORATED .READ THE HISTORY OF THIS VERY RARE KANGXI VASE :It is a genuine Kangxi period (1662 - 1722) blue & white export ware vase (complete with RARE original cover) made at the imperial kilns at Jingdezhen, that has been "dolled up" in the late 18th or early 19th century, most likely in Paris or Holland, a process known as 'clobbering'.This is what the vase looked like originally underneath all the over-painting,http://i.imgur.com/h4fddo4.jpga simple brocade pattern of mudan flowers and leaves (tree peony) in cobalt blue. The rust red, green and the small magenta colored and yellow buds, and the white raised jeweling and the gold highlighting have all been added afterwards, over the glaze, in Europe. It was considered quite fashionable in Paris at the time to display 'clobbered' Chinese blue & white porcelain like this.We know that the over-glaze decoration was not done during the Kangxi period at the time of its manufacture because those raised paste, opaque enamels such as the magenta in the small buds in the branches of the blue mudan flowers was a palette that was not available to the Chinese at the time. The artemisia leaf in the double ring on the base is a typical Kangxi style mark of the imperial kilns at Jingdezhen. During emperor Kangxi's reign there was considerable unrest and the using of official Imperial seal marks was forbidden or highly restricted. Alternatively, it may just have been that the porcelain decorators simply did not want (or were too scared) to declare an allegiance by using the Imperial seal. Whatever the reason, the result was the use of all sorts of odd little plants like this leaf & lingzhi fungus and 'precious objects' and creatures such as frogs and rabbits. And often just an empty blue ring. PS : THE 5TH PHOTO SHOW HOW IT WAS BEFORE OF PARIS HAND MADE DéCORATION OVER THE ORIGINAL DRAWING .
