Edward Stanford's Library Map of London and its Suburbs, C.1870. This large, complete edition of the folding map, housed between two boards, is linen backed and measures 166 x 190cm and is comprised of 49 separate panels. Significant features are colour highlighted and street names are identified. Consult condition report. CONDITION REPORT: Clearly this is a large map and requires very careful handling, partly because of its condition.. All the map panels are present and complete. Some of the panels are partially separated from the linen backing. There is some variable discolouration of the linen backing which is slightly visible on the map panels. The original boards in which the map was housed have quite severely deteriorated and will need appropriate replacements. All the smaller details on the map, such as road names, are clearly visible with limited magnification.
