Thangka of the Wrathful Protector Mahakala, Tibet (likely the Amdo Province), late 18th or early 19th century, gouache on cotton, 22 x 15.75 inches, in a cherry wood frame 30 x 23 inches, wrathful and dark blue central figure holding a dagger and skull cup, standing atop two figures on lotus base, surrounded by flames of englightenment, Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara at upper center flanked by Buddha Shakyamuni and Guru Rinpoche, also with two lamas, three wrathful protectors at bottom. Condition Report In good condition with age appropriate creasing and small areas of paint loss, few small stains, not examined outside of frame.
