ARCHAIC JADE VASE, FANGZUN
China, 20th century
Carved in a celadon-coloured stone with bluish reflections in places and veined with rust. With foot and neck forming faceted trumpet pavilions with bulbous belly. The edges are underlined by redented friezes. The neck flanked by two handles with heads of Chinese unicorns (qilin) holding hanging rings. Decoration in low relief of esses and Greeks drawing Taotian masks (inclusions, veins, colourings).
