A Meissen two-handled ecuelle, cover and stand, circa 1740
Each piece painted with scattered insects and butterflies with shadows and applied with naturalistically-coloured flowers, the entwined branch finial surmounted by a flower and with floral terminals, the double-scroll handles embellished in gilding, the rims and inside rims gilt, the stand: 23.7cm across, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue, impressed 20 to stand, impressed dot and 9 inside footrim of ecuelle (some chips to applied flowers) (3)
