Impressionist work depicting a young brunette woman in a flowing blue gown playing the piano illuminated by sunlight through leaded windows in a tapestry decorated room. Graves iconic vibrant flowers can be seen through the windows. As a Boston School artist Graves was taught in a realist fashion but grew to accept and utilize impressionism in his career.

Provenance Fresh from a Boston area, Massachusetts estate, passed through descent within the family, always together as a pair with the other Graves painting in the sale.
