Impressionist work depicting a young brunette woman in a white and pink gown leaning on a chair and gazing into a cheval mirror. The interior is illuminated by rays of sunshine filtered through the curtains in the background. As a Boston School artist Graves was taught in a realist fashion but grew to accept and utilize impressionism in his career.

Provenance Fresh from a Boston area, Massachusetts estate, passed through descent within the family, always together as a pair with the other Graves painting in the sale.
