A heavily-potted stoneware jar of elegant form, coated both inside and out in a pale bluish-grey finely-crackled glaze and decorated in blue with various bands surrounding the body between which are flower blossoms. Made by the late renowned potter Malcolm Pepper (1937-1980) and bearing his impressed mark. Height 33.5cm (13.25 inches).
Provenance: from the collection of the late Brian Page (1938-2018), the well-known Oriental art and antiques dealer from Brighton. Mr. Page was a friend of Malcolm Pepper and often visited his pottery, on occasion buying pieces “fresh from the kiln”.
