. Made in 2003 by renown master potter Chris Lewis (b.1951) of South Heighton Pottery, Newhaven, Sussex. This was a special commission for Brian Page, the form resembling Liao Dynasty vases of the 10th & 11th centuries. Of elegant form with a flared base, wide body and narrow neck leading to a dish-shaped mouth. The inner surface is coated in a reddish-brown glaze, the outer surface purposely irregularly coated in ash glaze with a single decorative groove around the lower shoulder. Height 44m (17.25 inches).
