A square Chinese export silver vase dating to the 19th century. The vase is stamped on the bottom with a two-character mark and the words "Sincere" and "Shanghai." The vase has two handles and depicts a ruyi motif at the top of each side, while a scene of flowers and birds decorates the body. It is accompanied by a wooden stand. Dimensions are: 7 1/2 in. tall X 5 1/4 in wide; 19.1 cm tall X 13.3 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Overall good condition with minor surface wear. Provenance: From Mr. Chun in Northern California. These items were from Mr. Chun's grandfather who was the owner of Chang Mao Yang Hang bank in Shanghai's British concession in the early 1900s.
